I work as a Chief Engineer for Crowley Marine Services. Our tug boats are responsible for the escort and response duties of the super tankers that transport Oil from the Alyeska Pipeline to the world. I have been doing this for the last 10 years; I am a member and Union Steward for the Inland Boatman's Union of the Pacific. There are some 160 plus members working on the Tugs and Barges here in the system.

Our work rotations put us on these vessels for 50% of our lives. So for me having worked here for the past 10 years of my life means that five years worth of that time I was away from home, my wife, and my sons. You could say that I am basically a prisoner on a Tug Boat. We do not get shore leave because we must be available to respond to an emergency at a moment’s notice.

What does all this have to do with Cell Signal Boosters, let me tell you; the one thing that makes our lives in this situation bearable is our ability to communicate with the outside world and our families. For years we had nothing, marriages crumbled, and morale was always a problem. Then things began to change. Cell phones helped, but due to the weak signal strength found aboard the vessels they were not reliable. But then we discovered the Wilson Cell Signal Boosters and antennas.

It has been an unbelievable blessing for us and everyone in similar situations. This technology has become readily available, affordable, and Wilson even backs everything up with great service and support. We can now not only talk with our families daily, but with broadband Internet now we can receive photos from home and use the web for all kinds of things. Without our Cell signal Boosters none of this would be possible.

Without this technology, our cell phones would not work, and our communication with the outside world would not be possible. Without signal boosters and other quality Wilson electronics our open access to phone and internet services would be slammed closed.

I and my coworkers at sea up here in Alaska spend half of every year on tug boats and barges protecting Prince William Sound from oil spills by escorting the tankers to and from the docks at the end of the Alyeska Pipeline. So in my case in the last 11 years of working here, 5 and 1/2 years of that large part of my life is spent away from home, away from family, away from every reason for which I work so hard. These boosters have enabled me to stay in communication with my wife, my children, my grandchildren and my friends. I actually got to see my first grandchild blow out his birthday cake candles, and his first few steps ever almost in real time because of these boosters. This system is so important to me and so many others.
